BJP Spokes Person's Death Threat To Rahul Gandhi: Congress Says Remarks Calculated And Heinous

(Fast Mail):--The  Congress party has launched a scathing attack on the BJP and the RSS over the death threat issued at the Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi by Pintu Mahadev, a  BJP spokesperson, during a televised debate. The party has described the remarks as “cold, calculated and heinous”.

The party has alleged that those who are losing the ideological battle and whose "theft" has been exposed are hatching a "conspiracy" to silence the opposition leader, are now resorting to threats of violence in a bid to silence him.

Pawan Khera, the chief of the Congress media and publicity department, said, “A BJP spokesperson said on TV that Rahul Gandhi will be shot in the chest, and no action has been taken yet.”

He further accused the ruling party for politicising Rahul Gandhi’s security, pointing  that the CRPF had written a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge  over Rahul Gandhi's security, and it was leaked. Why his security is being politicized and such an atmosphere being created? “

Khera said in a video, “First you tried to silence him with abuses, now you are threatening him with bullets. The truth is, you cannot digest the fact that people from Kashmir to Kanyakumari are resonating with his message.”

Khera alleged that the BJP’s “theft” of democracy, including electoral malpractice, had been exposed, and now the party was panicking. “They are losing the battle of ideas. Whenever the RSS fails, their foot soldiers turn to violence. A Godse killed Gandhi then, and now their leaders are threatening Rahul Gandhi with the same fate,” he added.

Congress organisational general secretary K.C. Venugopal had written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah regarding this matter on Sunday.

Stating the failure to take immediate action against the person involved  would be seen as complicity in violence against the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and as normalizing violence.Venugopal had claimed that Mahadev is a BJP spokesperson and that he made this remark during a television debate on a Malayalam channel.
