'RSS Activities a Threat To Nation', Congress Targets PM Modi Citing Sardar Patel's Letter
(Fast Mail):-The Congress party, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's praise for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), targeted the RSS on Wednesday by referencing a letter from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh cited the letter written by then Home Minister Patel to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on July 18, 1948, a few months after Mahatma Gandhi's assassination, in which Patel stated that "the activities of the RSS are a threat to the government and the nation."
Sharing an excerpt from a book on Sardar Patel's letters on 'X', Jairam Ramesh said, "The Prime Minister spoke a lot about the RSS this morning. Is he also aware of what Sardar Patel wrote to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on July 18, 1948?"
The PM has spoken much of the RSS this morning.

In fact, the RSS has clarified on several occasions that it had no connection to Mahatma Gandhi's assassination.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi stated that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh works in collaboration with various sections of society, but there is never any internal conflict among its various branches because all operate on the principle of 'Nation First'.
