Famous actor Sameer Khakhar is no more, died at the age of 71
Mumbai, Mar 15, (Fast Mail News):-- Veteran actor Sameer Khakhar, who became a household name by playing the character of 'Khopdi' in the popular television serial 'Nukkad', passed away on Wednesday morning. The actor was 71 years old. He was ill for some time. Sameer was admitted to MM Hospital, Borivali, where he breathed his last.
Sameer's last rites are to be performed at Borivali Babhai Naka cremation ground today.
He has been a part of many TV shows and films in his acting career spanning 38 years. Sameer Khakhar has appeared in many films like 'Raja Babu'. However, in 1996 he decided to leave the acting career and move to America. Later, he made a comeback and also did two Gujarati plays. Also became very popular for his character in Salman Khan's film 'Jai Ho'.
Sameer started his acting career with the TV serial 'Nukkad'. After this he was seen playing the character of Chintamani in Doordarshan's serial 'Circus'. Sameer also played the role of film director Toto in DD Metro's serial 'Shriman Shrimati'. And some time ago he was seen playing the role of Guddu Mathur in the serial 'Sanjeevani'. Sameer was also seen in films like 'Hasee Toh Phasee', 'Jai Ho', 'Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi' a few years back. The actor will be remembered for his iconic roles in popular TV shows and films.
