'Hema Malini Made to Dance...' MP BJP Minister's Remarks Sparks Outrage
Mishra was accused of insulting women after he highlighted that he had brought “development at such a level in Datia that not only cultural programmes were organised, but even Hema Malini was made to dance.”
Reacting to Mishra’s comments, the Janata Dal (United) called it as “derogatory”.“See the reality of shameless BJP members who criticise the character and appearance. Madhya Pradesh’s Home Minister Narottam Mishra has said such derogatory things about his own party’s MP Hema Malini,” an X (formerly Twitter) post by the party said.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh also reacted to Mishra’s remarks saying “listen to the real meanness of the honourable minister of cultured BJP towards women. He doesn’t even spare his own party leader.”
His offensive remarks against their own MP, suggesting @dreamgirlhema was "made to dance" at a cultural event in Datia, unveils a misogynistic mindset.
How will women progress if such elected representatives are at the helm of governance?,he questioned.
