Pallahara village stuck by alarming tick (tinka) problem
The village consists of around 1,000 populations and by today almost all are affected by invading ticks. A villager said at the onset of the evening thousands of ticks come down on the village and stay put on the houses, trees and other structures in the villages when the villagers stay indoors. He said the ticks started coming about a week ago and the number and magnitude increased day by day. Today there are thousands of ticks found in the village.
Pallahara sub-collector R Patel said that he was aware of the problem and asked hospital authorities to visit the village and take the remedial measure.
Congress leader Jagadananda Pradhan said, he will speak to Angul collector to send a medical team to the affected village to find a remedy of the tick problem. He said Pallahara is always neglected by district authorities in such health matters. He threatened to go for agitation if steps are not taken to solve the tick problem.
