PM holds discussions over important security issues on final day of 59th DG-IG conferences

 NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions over important security-related issues concerning various states and union territories of the country on the final day of all-India Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police Conference held at Bhubaneswar on Sunday. Discussions were mainly held on cybercrimes, coastal security and combating Maoist insurgency. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Home Secretary Gobind Mohan, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were also present in the  Conference.

 

 The Conference focussed on determining a strategic path forward in combating diverse national security-related issues including challenges posed by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and drones, counter-terrorism strategies with the top police officials and chiefs of different security agencies. The Prime Minister and other key dignitaries also discussed various operational and infrastructure-related issues faced by the police. Deliberations on crucial issues like narcotics were also discussed at the conference. A roadmap was prepared in the conference for the ensuing year to tackle different security-related issues of the country.

The Prime Minister returned to Delhi this evening after completing his 3-day visit to Bhubaneswar. He was seen off by Governor of Odisha Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and many other dignitaries at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.
