Three journalists arrested in Talcher

 TALCHER: Talcher town police have arrested three journalists on the charge of attacking a web journalist last night.

The arrested are Anam Naz,Shaid Khan and Manil Moharana.While the former two were working with web media Manil was working as a reporter for OTV for Talcher.

The arrested have been sent to Talcher jail after their bail petitions were rejected by court.

According to police,one Rabindra Sethy is working as a journalist in a web media.He had a past enmity with some other web media journalists at Talcher.

 

 On Saturday night while Rabi purchasing fruits at bypass chhak,suddenly these three journalists arrived on the spot.Without any provocation these three started attacking Rabi with iron rod inflicting head and hand injuries.

He was immediately rushed to Talcher Mandapal hospital and then to Angul DHH.Then Rabi lodged an FIR with Talcher police about the murderous attack on him.But at the same time Anam Naz also lodged a counter FIR in Talcher police station.

Police investigated the two cases and today arrested Anam,Sahid and Manil in connection with the attack on Rabi Sethy.They were forwarded to court.

The IIC Digvijay Biswal while conforming the arrest said the investigations are on the complaint Anam Naz.

Meanwhile,OTV management has terminated Manil Maharana from reportership for Talcher.
