Works struck in government offices in Angul and Dhenkanal districts
Hundreds of people are returning from government offices as their works were not done by government officials due to mass leave.”I today came to sub-collector Angul office with regard to a land dispute with my neighbours.I couldn’t find him in office for which I was to return to home today.When I will come that is not also not certain”,said Amaresh Dehury of Jarpada area.
Hundreds of similar cases are reported from Angul and Dhenkanal districts where common people failed to get their grievances attended by OAS officials.
Since yesterday, the OAS officers in these two districts went on mass leave in a protest against the assault on additional commission of BMC on Monday.
The officers resorted to strike after giving a memorandum to the district collector.
In Dhenkanal,all the OAS officers working in three subdivisions went on mass leave on that issue.They struck work after giving a memorandum to district collector Somesh Upadhya yesterday.
Speaking to this paper ADM Behera said the strike will continue till the main culprit is arrested. He said the decision to go on mass leave was taken at district level.
