At least 30 killed in road accident in Pakistan's Peshawar
PESHAWAR:At least 30 people have died and several others injured as a bus fell into a deep gorge after colliding with a car in Peshawar, northwestern Pakistan on Tuesday.
Police said that at least 30 people have died in the accident and the accident took place near Shatial Chowk in Diamir area of Gilgit Baltistan area.
Police said that a speeding bus going from Gilgit to Rawalpindi collided with a car near the chowk and both the vehicles fell into a deep gorge. Police said that the rescuers were facing difficulty in relief and rescue work due to darkness.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condoled the loss of lives in the accident.
According to state-run Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif expressed condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the souls of the deceased. He has directed the officials to ensure proper treatment of the injured. President Arif Alvi has also condoled the death of people in the accident.
