U.S. President Trump Signals Softening Stance on Iran, Makes Statement on Iranian Oil and China!

WASHINGTON: Following a 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, a ceasefire has been established. After the ceasefire, U.S. President Donald Trump is now signalling a softer approach toward Iran, hinting that sanctions imposed on Iran may be eased in the coming days.

Speaking to the media, Trump said that Iran will require funds to rebuild its country, and oil trade could facilitate this. He stated that he has no objection if China buys oil from Iran. However, Trump also clarified that the "maximum pressure" policy on Iran will continue.

At the NATO Summit held in The Hague, Netherlands, Trump remarked that Iran needs money to rebuild its nation. He said, "We want them to do so. The war has just ended. They (Iran) fought bravely. They are oil traders. I could sell oil to China myself if I wanted to, but I don’t. If they want to sell oil, let them sell it. We are not seizing their oil assets." Meanwhile, the White House has clarified that this does not indicate a change in the policy regarding sanctions on Iranian oil.

U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Steve Witkoff responded on the matter, stating that Trump’s comment was merely a signal to China that the U.S. wants to work with them and does not intend to harm their economy.

Trump compared the attack on Iran’s nuclear sites to Hiroshima and Nagasaki, stating that the strike ended the war between Iran and Israel. He said, "I don’t want to cite the example of Hiroshima-Nagasaki, but this attack was similar, and it ended the war. If we hadn’t carried out this attack, the war between the two would still be ongoing."
