BJP staging drama to cover up government's failures : Kharge

By Jagadananda Pradhan
(Fast Mail):--
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of staging a drama to cover up the government's failures.

He claimed that the Constitution is under threat today due to the actions of the BJP and PM Modi. Kharge remarked, "Now they are talking about saving the Constitution. Referring to the BJP's ideological predecessors (RSS), he said, those who had no contribution to the freedom struggle, no role in the drafting of the Constitution, who always spoke against it, and who burned Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution at Ramlila Maidan, have now come to their senses."

Kharge claimed, "We have been holding a 'Save Constitution' campaign for a year, and it has rattled the BJP."

He accused the Modi government of failing in governance, alleging it has been unsuccessful in tackling inflation, unemployment, corruption, demonetization, and black money. He claimed this drama was orchestrated to hide these failures.

Kharge further alleged that the Election Commission has become a puppet in the current times.

The Congress President also took a dig at PM Modi over US President Donald Trump’s statements. In a sarcastic tone, he said, "Even someone with so many flaws wants to be a hero.

Kharge added, "Trump repeatedly claimed he stopped a war between India and Pakistan. But not a single word came from Narendra Modi. Trump said this not once or twice but 17 times, yet Modi remained silent. Narendra Modi is scared of Trump but wants to be a 'Vishwaguru' (world leader). On one hand, Trump intimidates Narendra Modi, and on the other, Modi campaigns for Trump, saying 'Abki Baar Trump Sarkar.' This means even someone with so many flaws wants to be a hero."

Kharge also raised the issue of the Pahalgam attack. He said the entire opposition was demanding a joint session of Parliament on the Pahalgam issue, but the government refused to convene it. He noted that even in the all-party meeting, the Prime Minister was absent as he was busy campaigning in Bihar.

He said that earlier Prime Ministers would interact with journalists, answering their questions openly. However, Narendra Modi only gives interviews to select people with pre-decided questions and prepared answers, calling this Modi's version of transparency in democracy.

Kharge urged Modi to focus on the needs of the people and work for them, instead of being preoccupied with elections.

On Manipur,he said that the state is burning, but Narendra Modi has not visited it even once. He said the Constitution has been shredded in Manipur, and the BJP is responsible for it. He raised several questions regarding Manipur:

Why has Narendra Modi not visited Manipur till date?

Is he afraid to go to Manipur?

Are the people of Manipur not citizens of India?

Mallikarjun Kharge concluded, "This is why we say there is a huge gap between Narendra Modi’s words and actions. If Rahul Gandhi can visit Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir, why can’t Narendra Modi? Is he afraid to meet the people of his own country?".
