Congress files complaint with EC against PM Modi's infiltrator remark against muslims

NEW DELHI: Congress has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against PM Modi's controversial statement on Muslims in Rajasthan a day ago and has demanded action. PM Modi had,in his speech said that if the Congress comes to power, it will take the property of the people and will distribute to the Muslims.

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said,"We have made 17 complaints, out of which only 5-6 have been discussed in detail. The most important is the first complaint which is related to the highly objectionable comments of any Prime Minister".

“This government...Unfortunately, the statement we have quoted is seriously, ridiculously offensive...We pray with folded hands to him (PM Modi) to retract this statement and give an explanation. We have asked the Election Commission to say that if it says it is the position in law, we will do the same in respect to him as we do to others. He has named a community, he has clearly spoken about religion, he has clearly spoken about communalism and community. They have clearly violated Article 123. Regardless of the position of the person doing so, appropriate action should be taken as in any other case and should be done promptly”,he said.
