Hindol Bar Association President Stabbed in Dhenkanal Village

DHENKANAL: Hindol Bar Association President Sushil Garnaik,50 was repeatedly stabbed by a man on Monday night at his village while he was sitting at a shop.Garnaik sustaining serious injuries on his stomach and back was first rushed to Dhenkanal District Medical and then was shifted to a private hospital at Bhubaneswar.His condition is stated to be stable,police said.

Registering a case in this connection,police have launched a massive manhunt since last night..But the assailant is still out of police net.

According to police,the Bar President Garnaik is a native of village Bedapada under Rasol police station.After coming to home in the evening,the lawyer was sitting at a shop in his village.Suddenly,a villager of that village Puti Samal,30 attacked him with a knife.He hit him on his stomach and backside injuring seriously.Garnaik fell down after the attack and the attacker had fled from the scene.

The villagers first shifted the injured Garnaik to Dhenkanal DHH from where he was referred to  a private hospital at Bhubaneswar.

 

 Rasol police registered a case in this connection on the report filed by his family members.

As the attackers had absconded, police have launched search operations to nab the culprit,according to SDPO Satya Nanda.

Today Dhenkanal SP Abhinab Sonkar had rushed to Hindol and visited the spot.He also talked to Hindol Bar Association members and assured  to nab the culprit very soon.He directed the local police officials to make concerted efforts to nab the culprit.

Police said,on the preliminary inquiry that a personal enmity might have been the cause behind the such murderous attack.Puti happens to be a driver by profession.
