Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: JDS releases third list of 59 candidates
BENGALURU: The Janata Dal Secular released the third list of 59 candidates for the assembly elections to be held in Karnataka on May 10. Along with this, the party announced to support the candidates of other parties including Congress on seven seats. The party changed candidates in 12 constituencies from the two lists announced earlier.
The JD(S) has announced its support to the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI) and the Republican Party of India (RPI) candidates on three seats each and Congress candidate Darshan Dhruvnarayan in Nanjangud. Darshan Dhruvnarayan is the son of Congress working president Dhruvnarayan, who passed away recently.
JD(S) will support CPI(M) candidates in Puram and RPI in C.V. Raman Nagar, Vijayanagar and Mahadevapura. Senior leader and Legislative Council member Ayanur Manjunath, who came to JD(S) from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been given ticket from Shivamogga.
Among those who got JD(S) ticket in place of the candidates announced in the earlier lists were former minister G. Nagamarapalli's son Suryakant Nagamarapalli, who has been given a ticket from Bidar. Suryakant had recently joined JD(S).
