Moscow-Goa flight diverted to Uzbekistan after bomb threat: Report

PANAJI: A chartered plane carrying 240 passengers from Russia's capital Moscow to Goa was diverted to Uzbekistan early today after a bomb threat.

A senior police officer said that the plane was supposed to land at Dabolim airport in Goa at 4:30 am.

He said that the flight (AZV2463) operated by Azure Air was diverted before entering Indian airspace.

"It was diverted after receiving an email at 12:30 pm by the Director of Dabolim Airport, which mentioned that a bomb had been planted on the plane," the official said.

The incident took place almost two weeks after a flight from Moscow to Goa made an emergency landing at the Jamnagar airport in Gujarat following a bomb threat.
