Rahul Gandhi : Farmers Are Struggling with Crisis, Government Unprepared

(Fast Mail):-- Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Wednesday alleged that farmers across the country are grappling with a shortage of essential fertilizers like urea and DAP, but the government has made no preparations to address the issue.

Posting on his WhatsApp channel, Rahul Gandhi referred to media reports, stating, “India is an agrarian country, and farmers are the backbone of our economy. But today, this very backbone is bending under the weight of foreign dependency. India imports 80 percent of its ‘speciality fertilizers’ from China, and now China has stopped the supply.”

Raising the issue of fertilizer shortage, Gandhi said, “This is not the first time that farmers across the country have been struggling with a shortage of essential fertilizers like urea and DAP, and now the ‘Chinese crisis’ of speciality fertilizers is looming.”

He claimed that while Prime Minister Modi gets his pictures printed on fertilizer bags, farmers are becoming increasingly dependent on ‘Made in China.’

Gandhi further stated, “Despite knowing that this supply could stop at any time, the government has made no preparations. When there was a need to promote domestic production, they neither formulated a policy nor devised a plan.”

He questioned, “Will farmers now remain dependent on others even for their own soil? Suffering the loss of precious time and good harvests, drowning in debt and despair, farmers are asking—whose support, whose development?”
