Inter district idol thieves gang busted in Dhenkanal

DHENKANAL:Dhenkanal police in a major success  has busted an inter-district idol thieves by arresting  three persons in this connection.These three persons were involved in  various ifdol theft cases reported from 11 police stations of Dhenkanal district and Sukinda police stations from jajpur district.Police seized one idol of Lord Shiva, Goddes parvati,two metallic snakes ,one metallic Brusava,one metallic khatuli.Besides police also seized melted and cut-pieces of silver.

The arrested are Biswanatha Nayak of village Nimidha under Motanga police station,Manas Sandhal of village Sagarpasi under Dhenkanal police station and Ranjit Kumar Sahoo under Banarpal police station.

 

 

 Dhenkanal SDPO Bibhuti Mohapatra said these three criminals were indulged in stealing idols from various temples across the district and outside.They used to steal idols of the temples and break hundis of the temples.He said there were several cses against these gangs in 11 police stations of the district in last two years..

He said following series of idol thefts  police formed a team wich was successful in cracking the criminal gang.ot of the stolen articles have been recovered .The three accused persons have been arrested today and forwarded to court,SDPO said.
