KKR signs Jason Roy as a replacement of Shreyas Iyer

New Delhi, Apr 5, (Fast Mail News):-- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has signed English batsman Jason Roy for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. KKR signed Roy for Rs 2.8 crore, his base price was Rs 1.5 crore.

Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the tournament while Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has declared his incapacitation for the season.

Roy, who previously featured in the 2017 and 2018 seasons, last played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 season. In 2021, he played five matches, scoring 150 runs including a half-century. The 32-year-old has played 64 T20Is for England, scoring 1522 runs with 8 fifties and a strike rate of 137.61.
