Opposition Raises Questions on Election Commission's Press Conference, Says No Burning Issues Addressed

(Fast Mail):--Amid the controversy over SIR continues in the country, the Election Commission held a press conference today. However, the opposition has raised questions about the Election Commission's press conference.

RJD leader Manoj Jha said, "...This institution,Election Commission was born out of the Constitution, it is not the Constitution itself... I would request Gyanesh Kumar to recall Sukumar Sen. In today’s press conference, no burning questions were answered; the Constitution cannot be shredded in the name of the Constitution..."

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said, "I just want to say that the Election Commissioner has the constitutional right to conduct fair elections, but are fair elections being conducted? Is the voter list being prepared impartially? Why does the BJP have a soft copy of the voter list, but we don’t? Is this fairness? Today, Rahul Gandhi started the Voter Rights Yatra with these very questions. They are not answering these and are instead accusing us."

Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "Did Gyanesh Gupta, Chief Election Commissioner give any answers about the 1 lakh voters we exposed in Mahadevapura... We had hoped that today Gyanesh Kumar Gupta would answer our questions..."

RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari said, "The Election Commission should not act as the BJP Commission and read a script written by the central government; it should conduct fair elections. When the Supreme Court’s interim order came, only then did the Election Commission hold a press conference. The issue of vote theft is clearly visible, and Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav have exposed it... The Election Commission should not indulge in politics... Their double standards are evident in their words and actions... After so many days, you have woken up and are holding a press conference to give clarifications."
