Rahul Gandhi to Launch 'Voter Rights Yatra' from Sasaram Today

(Fast Mail):--  Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will launch the 'Voter Rights Yatra' from Sasaram, Bihar, today.

The 16-day journey will focus on intensive voter list revision and alleged 'vote theft.' RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and other INDIA alliance leaders will also participate.Yatra Details:  Start: August 17 from Sasaram (Rohtas) 

Route: Covers 20 districts in 16 days, including Gaya, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Purnia, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Chhapra, and more. 

Closing Rally: September 1 at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, with a massive Voter Rights Rally.

 

 

 Objective: The yatra aims to highlight undemocratic aspects of the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Congress alleges that 65 lakh names were removed from Bihar’s voter list without adequate scrutiny, potentially affecting the voting rights of Dalits, marginalized communities, minorities, and migrant citizens.

The Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission to make public the list of 65 lakh removed names and the reasons for their removal.Congress emphasizes that this yatra is not just an electoral issue but a "decisive battle for the protection of democracy and the Constitution."

Rahul Gandhi has called for safeguarding "one person, one vote" and urged people to join the yatra.Congress stated, "We urge the people of Bihar to join this journey for your rights.

 Let Bihar lead the way in strengthening democracy."The yatra includes RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, CPI(ML), and other INDIA bloc leaders. Tejashwi said, "Our aim is to strengthen democracy and defeat vote thieves."
