Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan's close aide Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrested
Islamabad, May 11:-- Pakistan's former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a close aide of ousted prime minister Imran Khan was arrested. The PTI tweeted a video and said its Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been arrested by the Islamabad police in the early hours of Thursday and transferred to an unknown location.
Earlier, senior leaders of PTI including former federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry were arrested.
The move comes a day after the arrest of former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan. The party has claimed that 47 of its workers died, and 1,000 were arrested in clashes with security forces.
Fawad Chaudhry who had sought refuge inside the court for over 12 hours was ultimately taken into custody. Pakistan’s military was called in large parts of the country to maintain the law and order.
Yesterday, a Pakistani court indicted former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana corruption case. The court also granted 8-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to the National Accountability Bureau in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
