Congress submitted 89 lakh complaints, all rejected by ECI,says Pawan Khera

(Fast Mail):--The Congress has rejected the Election Commission's claim that it has not received any complaint from political parties (BLA) before, the last date for filing claims and complaints about the draft voter list released after Bihar SIR has come out.

Congress on Sunday ,August 31, 2025 claimed that it gave 89 lakh complaints to the Election Commission under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, but the complaints of the booth level agent (BLA) related to the party were not accepted by the commission.

In Patna, the head of the party's media department, Pawan Khera, said that 'door to door' verification is needed again to correct the mistakes. He said that the data given by the Congress should be investigated by the commission.

Pawan Khera said in a press conference a day before the completion of the Voter Rights Yatra, “The Election Commission keeps planting news through its sources that no complaints are coming from any political party. The truth is that the Congress Party has given 89 lakh complaints to the Election Commission, but the complaints of the party's BLA were not taken.”

He said, “When our BLAs go with complaints, their complaints are not taken. They are told that we will take complaints from the affected people.” Khera asked what is the role of political parties and BLA in such a situation?

Pawan Khera said, “Tomorrow is September 1, the last date for filing complaints under SAIR in the Election Commission. Our BLAs have left no stone unturned in getting the applications of the citizens of Bihar registered.”

The Congress leader said, “65 lakh votes were deleted at a total of 90,540 booths in Bihar. The Election Commission has given four reasons for deletion of names.”

According to Khera, 25 lakh names were deleted due to migration, 22 lakh names of the dead were deleted, 9,70,000 names were deleted due to absence from the address, 7 lakh names were deleted due to being registered somewhere else earlier.

He said that the number of booths where more than 100 names were deleted is 20368 and the number of booths where more than 200 names were deleted is 1988.

Pawan Khera said, “There are 7,613 booths where more than 70 percent of the names of women have been deleted. There are 635 booths where more than 75 percent of the names deleted in the migrant category are women. At 7,931 booths, 75 percent of the names have been deleted and put in the dead category.”

He said that it is very important to re-check all these figures, because people's names have been deleted on such a large scale under a pattern. The Congress leader said, 'There are lakhs of cases in which two EPIC numbers have been given to the same voter. We have their receipts too, now this cannot be denied.'

The Congress leader said, “We hope that the Election Commission should re-verify the data we have given and get it investigated.”

He said that there is a serious need for 'door to door' verification again to correct these mistakes.
