Government considers Imran Khan's party a "terrorist organisation": Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam

Islamabad, Mar 18, (Fast Mail News):-- Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif has asked the coalition government to consider Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as a "terrorist organisation". Addressing the press conference in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the government should treat PTI chairman Imran Khan in the same way as it treats a terrorist organization. "The way the government, the state deals with a banned organisation, a terrorist organisation, Imran Khan should be dealt with in the same way. The strategy of dealing with it (PTI) as a political party needs to end," he said. "

Maryam Nawaz Sharif further said that the PTI chairman is now ready to hold talks with the government as all his strategies have failed. "The government should deal with them the same way it deals with terrorists," he said. At the press conference, the PML-N vice-president lashed out at the ex-prime minister for "openly rebelling against the state". According to Dawn's report, Maryam Nawaz's statement came after Imran Khan protested against his arrest in the Toshakhana case and challenged the police and rangers from inside his Zaman Park residence surrounded by hundreds of supporters.

Maryam said, "After the foreign funding case, I have no doubt that he (Imran) wants to spread civil unrest and anarchy in Pakistan." He said, "What do terrorists do when they are planning to carry out terrorism? They hide in caves and pass orders from there." Maryam also said that political and democratic movements have always seen that political leaders or party chiefs lead from the front. He stays at the forefront and people stand behind him. Maryam said that only in terrorist organizations orders are given "from a cave". Something similar was happening in Zaman Park as well.

To arrest Khan in the Toshakhana case, the Pakistani police force went to his residence in Zaman Park, after which protests started at many places. On 7 March, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended Imran's non-bailable arrest warrant till 13 March and directed him to appear before the sessions court. When the proceedings began on Tuesday, Imran's lawyer Khwaja Haris informed the court that his client would not be able to appear. Imran's lawyer said, "He is not refusing to appear, but he cannot appear due to security threats." He reminded that the IHC had asked the sessions court to initiate legal action against the PTI chief as per law, if he did not appear before the court on March 13, Dawn reported.
