Nine pilgrims killed in car crash in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: At least nine Pakistanis,including women and children have been killed and several others injured in a car crash in Saudi Arabia.

These people from Pakistan were returning to the Saudi capital city of Riyadh after performing Umrah.

The victims hail from Islamnagar and Chak 18, neighboring villages in the Nankana Sahib district of Pakistan.According to reports,these people were living in Saudi Arabia on visit visas.

The dead are identified as Zulfikar Ali, Shahbaz Ali son of Muhammad Yunus, Umm Amara wife of Shahbaz Ali, Amaria Bibi wife of Muhammad Tayyab Goraya, Haram Fatima daughter of Muhammad Tayyab, Muhammad Dawood son of Tayyab, Abuzar son of Tayyab, Tahrim Fatima daughter of Muhammad Shahbaz, and Harim Fatima daughter of Muhammad Shahbaz.

According to sources,the incident took place when the SUV in which they were traveling in veered off the road and fell into a ravine. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the crash.

It was not clearly immediately what caused the vehicle to veer off the road.
