It has been reported in the media that Russian President Vladimir Putin has fulfilled his promise to send the third squadron of S-400 to India amid the ongoing war with Ukraine. The squadron is a surface-to-air missile defense system. In 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a $5.43 billion contract to deliver five S-400 squadrons to India by the end of 2023. Under this, three S-400 have been given to India so far. Earlier in December 2021, the first S-400 was received by India, it has been deployed on the Pakistan border in Pathankot. After this, the second S-400 came to India in April 2022. It is deployed in Siliguri near the China border in the North East. It is believed that the third S-400 unit received from Russia can be deployed in Punjab or Rajasthan around the Pakistan border.

It is noteworthy that a regiment of Russia's S-400 missile system consists of eight truck launchers. Each truck is fitted with four launchers. Four missiles can be fired at a time. In this way there are 32 missiles in a regiment. With India having three such regiments, the security of the country's capital Delhi and its borders will be strengthened.
