Angul: Protest meet held by Outfit before collectorate demanding 10-point charter of demands

 ANGUL:Angul Zilla Jana Jeevan Surakshaya Committee, an outfit spearheading the interest of the district  held a protest meet infront of Angul collectorate today demanding  the fulfillment 10-point charter of demands,including provision of free electricity,functioning of Talcher medical college and the upgradation of Angul district headquarter hospital into a super specialty hospital.

The outfit members held the protest meet in which members across party line and learned persons took part in the protest meet.The committee later submitted a memorandum to the chief minister through the Additional District magistrate Rajanikanta Swain.

Manas Kumar Pal,a senior member of the outfit said,”We had earlier raised  our demands several times but the government doesn’t fulfil our demand.Our demands,include, the functioning of Talcher medical college and the upgradation of Angul district headquarter hospital into a super specialty hospital. Our other demands are the government provide sufficient number of doctors and paramedical staff in the public health centres and community health centre across the district as these hospitals are plagued by shortage of doctors and staff”.

 

 

 The committee also demanded implementation of various irrigation projects like Sureswari, Dhauragoth,Hidsingh and others,reduction of Sabha Ghar rent . “Our other demands are provision of free electricity to all the domestic  consumers of the district as the electricity generated from the district goes to the entire nation and people eat its pollution hazards”,Pal said.

He said,”We have submitted memorandum to the chief minister in this regard.If the state government does not fulfill the demands then the committee will wage agitations across the district, including bandh and economic blockade in the days ahead”.

In the protest meet advocate Rabindra Prasad Patnaik,Tirthabasi Bhoi,Parsuram Dash, Pramod Pradhan,Manas Pal, Abhinyu Swain among others  were present on the occasion.
