Mumbai Indians unveil team jersey for first season of WPL
Mumbai, Feb 25, (Fast Mail News):-- Mumbai Indians on Saturday unveiled the team jersey for the first season of the Women's Premier League (WPL).
Mumbai Indians unveiled the team jersey by releasing a video on their social media handles. India captain Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will open their campaign against Gujarat Giants on March 4 at the DY Patil Stadium.
The newly formed coaching team for the women's team includes Charlotte Edwards (Head Coach), Jhulan Goswami (Team Mentor and Bowling Coach) and Devika Palshikar (Batting Coach).
In the inaugural edition of WPL, five teams - Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors - shelled out money to acquire some of the best talent in the international and domestic circuit.
In its first season, the Women's Premier League will feature a total of 20 league matches and two playoff games which will be played over a period of 23 days.
The final of the Women's Premier League 2023 will be played at the Brabourne Stadium on 26 March.
