Nepal Army Takes Control, Curfew in Kathmandu, Airport Closed, Flights Suspended
KATHMANDU: The young demonstrators,Under the banner of 'General Z' in Nepal have toppled the existing government and shook the foundations of power with setting fire to the Parliament building, Supreme Court, offices of political parties, homes of the Prime Minister and ministers, and the historic Singha Durbar in Kathmandu.
According to reports,a curfew remains in effect in Kathmandu city until further notice.
Meanwhile,Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport has been closed, and all flights to and from the airport have been canceled.
Over 250 daily flights have been affected, including those operated by airlines such as Air India, IndiGo, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, and Singapore Airlines.
Meanwhile, the Gen Z protesters appear determined to destroy everything. Following the resignation of Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the Nepal Army has taken control.
The army has urged the youth to end their protests. With no government currently in place in Nepal, the question remains: what happens next?
