Six member inter dist lootera gang nabbed by Kamakhyanagar police

DHENKANAL: Kamakhyanagar police in Dhenkanal district have busted a hard core lootera gang active in both Angul and Dhenkanal districts for last three years by arresting six persons and recovering huge stolen materials from them.The arrested are Bijay Parida,30,Biras Behera,29,Chikun Behera,32,Satyanarayan Behera,24,Kahnu Naik,32 and Prakash Naik,30.

All these criminals belong to Kamakhyanagar,Parjang and kankadahad area.The stolen material worth of rupees 50lakhs have been recovered from them.These include TV,Inverter,Computers,vehicles and others.These criminals used to commit burglary mostly in a school panchayat offices and private houses.

Kamakhyanagr SDPO Snehashis Sahoo said for last three years these criminals were committing crimes in at least nine police station areas in Dhenkanal and Angul district.The latest they committed burglary one week ago in panchayat office of kankadahad.From there this gang looted computers,inverter and other belongings.

Sahoo said having received the complaint from Panchayat officials police swung into action.It has first apprehended Bijay parida finding clue from Parjang area and upon interrogation he confessed to have committed crimes along with five accomplishes.Police then conducted raids and nabbed other five persons involved in the gang.These gang members have been arrested and forwarded to court today.He said these looter gang have been involved in about 64 burglary cases in both the districts.
