Hockey India congratulates Bhola Nath Singh and Jaideep Kaur on being elected as Vice President and Athlete Representatives of AHF

New Delhi, Mar 24, (Fast Mail News):-- Hockey India has congratulated Bhola Nath Singh, (Secretary General Hockey India) and Jaideep Kaur on being elected Vice President and Athlete Representative respectively in the newly elected Board of AHF during the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Congress held in Mungyeong, Korea.

 

Besides these two, Bigan Soy, (Indian goalkeeper), who was part of the Indian women's team's bronze medal winning campaign at the Ergo Hockey Women's Junior World Cup Germany, 2023, has been appointed as a member of the AHF Women's Advisory Panel Is.

 

Former wrestler Bhola Nath Singh is also the president of Hockey Jharkhand, under whose leadership the state has produced several international hockey players in recent years, including Nikki Pradhan, who became the first player from the state to represent India at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. A hockey player, she also represented the country at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 along with state teammate Salima Tete, who was one of the youngest players in the team.

 

Bhola Nath Singh has also contributed to the development of Simdega and Ranchi as two major hockey training centers in the state, which has helped in the growth of the game with special hockey camps being held here. Apart from regularly hosting domestic hockey competitions in Jharkhand and strengthening the grassroots infrastructure in the state, Bhola Nath Singh was part of the Hockey India-led team that recently successfully organized the FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela. was hosted.

 

Jaideep Kaur, one of the athlete representatives on the Hockey India Executive Board and a member of the Hockey India selection committee, has also represented India at the highest level. He has played 110 international matches for India. She was also a part of the Indian team that participated in the 2006 Women's World Cup in Madrid, Spain and was also a member of the Indian junior women's team that participated in the 2005 BDO Junior World Cup (Women) in Santiago, Chile.

 

She was also part of the Indian team that finished third in the 2010 Women's Asian Champions Trophy in Kangsao, Busan, Korea.

 

Hockey India President Padma Shri Dr. Dilip Tirkey congratulated Bhola Nath Singh, Jaideep Kaur and Bigan Soy on being elected as the new Vice President, Athlete Representative and Member of the AHF Women's Advisory Panel, respectively, of the AHF.

 

He said, “It is a proud moment for us at Hockey India that Bhola Nath Singh has been elected as the Vice President of the Asian Hockey Federation, our former hockey star Mrs. Jaideep Kaur has been elected as the Athlete Representative of the Asian Hockey Federation Hai and Bigan Soy have been appointed as members of the AHF Women's Advisory Panel."
