Under the leadership of Bhakta Charan Das in Odisha, the Congress is on the right path : Venugopal

 ‘ No one is a big leader, no one is a small leader; all are Congress leaders.The year 2029 is ours’,said the AICC General Secretary (Organization) KC Venugopal.

Venugopal,while attending Public Affairs Committee meeting at Congress Bhawan, Bhubaneswar on Sunday infused enthusiasm among the party’s leaders and workers with this message.

He hoped under the leadership of Bhakta Charan Das in Odisha, the Congress is on the right path. "If Rahul Gandhi can walk thousands of miles in a padyatra, why can’t we?”,he said.

Later,addressing the PCC workers, heads of all departments, frontal organizations, cells, and PCC observers involved in the organization-building campaign under the presidency of PCC President Bhakta Charan Das, he said that the organisation process will soon be completed in all districts across the country. By September 30, the selection of presidents for all 35 organisational districts in Odisha will be finalised.

 He informed that under the guidance of party leader Rahul Gandhi, a 10-day training camp held in Gujarat will be replicated in Odisha by the Congress.

In a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) comprising senior party leaders, attended by all party MLAs and MPs, he added that the Congress is now recognised as the main opposition party in Odisha in the eyes of the public.

Charting out political programmes for the congress workers and leaders in the state,Venugopal said, “If the party’s leaders and workers work diligently, it is possible to defeat both the BJP and BJD. The performance of newly appointed district presidents will be reviewed every three months. In October, the Congress will reach all blocks. In November and December, the issue of ‘vote theft’ will be taken to the grassroots level, and booth committee formation will be completed”.

In a post on “X”,Venugopal called the party workers and leaders to strengthen the organisation. The meeting also focused on the alarming rise in cases of crimes against, and disappearance of women, and the total misgovernance of the BJP-led Odisha Government”.

He stressed on the need for strengthening the organisation at the district and grass root level and PCC observers to play a decisive role to strengthen the organisation.

“The Congress stands firmly with the people of Odisha in their struggle for justice, dignity and democracy”,the congress leader said.

He praised the year-long padyatra proposed by the PCC President starting from Gandhi Jayanti, stating that it should be ensured that all active leaders and workers participate in it.

 Presiding over the PAC meeting, AICC Odisha in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu said that the Congress is now rising in the state. If the PCC continues its work at this pace, it will be impossible to stop us in 2029.

PCC President Bhakta Charan Das said that the tireless efforts of countless Congress leaders and workers in organisation-building will not go in vain.

He called upon the party’s leaders and workers to participate in the year-long padyatra starting from October 2.

In the Political Affairs Committee meeting, leaders like Mohammed Moquim, Nagendra Pradhan, Sushila Tiriya, Niranjan Patnaik, Jaydev Jena, Jagannath Patnaik, Anant Prasad Sethi, Santosh Singh Saluja, Ramesh Jena, Sophia Firdoos, Shrikant Jena, Saptagiri Ulaka, and Dr. Bishwa Ranjan Mahanti participated in the discussions and put forward several proposals.

Minakshi Bahinipati and Ranjit Patra provided information about various programs of the Women’s Congress and Youth Congress, respectively.

Congress Legislature Party leader Ramchandra Kadam offered the vote of thanks.

In the organization-building meeting, Amar Pradhan, Sarat Rout, Tankadhar Sahu, Amita Biswal, Amrita Das, Shakuntala Laguri, Sasmitha Panda, Bishwa Ranjan Das, Abhay Sahu, Manas Mallick, Yashobant Singh Laguri, Madhusmita Panda, and C.S. Rajan Ekka shared their experiences.

The program was initiated by Srijan Chairman Dr. Debashish Patnaik, while co-chairman Sudhanshu Deo offered the vote of thanks. Both programs were coordinated by Odisha co-in-charge Shahnawaz Choudhury.
